About Marlow
Marlow is best known for its suspension bridge and busy high street, but behind the centre the town spreads up into Marlow Bottom, where roads of later family housing climb away from the river. Georgian and Victorian buildings sit close to the centre and the lock, while the Bottom is largely made up of homes built during the 1960s and 1970s. Travelling from Chorleywood across the M40, can be taken on jobs across both parts of the town, since the housing types and their needs differ quite a lot.
Homes in Marlow
Properties near Marlow's centre and the river include Georgian townhouses and Victorian terraces with original joinery and period features that need sympathetic repair rather than wholesale replacement. Marlow Bottom's housing is mostly detached and semi-detached family homes from the 1960s and 1970s, with simpler doors, skirting and layouts that are generally easier to adjust or update. Some newer infill housing has appeared in both areas over recent years, bringing modern joinery that needs little more than routine maintenance.
Jobs we can help Marlow homeowners with
In Marlow's older centre, period doors and skirting are repaired using our carpentry service, matching replacement sections to existing profiles where needed. Marlow Bottom bedrooms and hallways are a good fit for fitted wardrobes or under-stairs storage, since many of these 1960s and 1970s houses were built without built-in storage as standard. Connected rooms across Marlow can be refreshed together through our painting and decorating service, keeping colours consistent through hallways and open-plan living spaces that many of these houses share.

Marlow: questions
+Do Marlow Bottom houses usually have built-in storage already?
Many do not, since they were built in the 1960s and 1970s before fitted storage became standard. This makes fitted wardrobes and under-stairs cupboards useful additions for organising belongings in this part of Marlow.
+Can you match skirting in a Georgian Marlow townhouse?
Yes, we take a profile from the existing skirting and source a matching replacement, which keeps period rooms near Marlow's centre looking consistent even where sections have been damaged.
+Will you repaint a whole floor in one visit?
Where the job allows, yes, which suits Marlow homes with open-plan layouts. Keeping colours consistent across connected rooms usually looks better than treating each space separately.
